Initiated in August 2021, this project aims to integrate energy efficiency measures at AB InBev’s production site in Jupille-sur-Meuse (Liège).
Schneider Electric will act as technical partner for the design, integration and maintenance of the equipment over a 12-year period. Schneider Electric guarantees a minimum level of energy savings, the achievement of which is validated by a measurement and verification protocol in line with IPMVP standards, the benchmark in this field.
Kyotherm acts as a financial partner by setting up an Energy Performance Contract based on an Energy-as-a-Service model. This means that AB InBev bears no investment costs for the implementation of the project, and benefits from a reduction in its energy bill from the very first year.
Energy efficiency measures include the thermal insulation of steam and compressed air circuits, the installation of sequencers, the replacement of lighting with LED fixtures (indoors and outdoors), the integration of air treatment units and variable speed drives to optimize the consumption of HVAC systems, and the installation of a centralized monitoring and control system linked to all the site’s metering equipment.
Each year, these measures reduce the brewery’s CO2 emissions by over 1,400 tonnes.
