CASE STUDY

SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) | Le Lardin-Saint-Lazare (France)

Founded in 1907, the Condat site (a subsidiary of the Lecta group) at Le Lardin-Saint-Lazare specializes in the production of “woodfree coated paper” used for advertising, luxury books and the press. This production represents an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes.

To meet the heat requirements of this production and reduce the site’s dependence on natural gas, the project calls for the construction of a Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) boiler. This system will make it possible to recover waste with a high biogenic content, collected from local sources and currently destined for landfill.

With a capacity of 32 MW, the new boiler will cover around 50% of Condat’s steam requirements, helping to boost the plant’s competitiveness.

The project has received a €14 million subsidy from the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME).
