Flexibility and Storage

Flexibility and storage projects help stabilizing the electricity market by minimizing fluctuations in supply and demand. Flexibility facilitates the integration of intermittent renewable energies, such as solar and wind power, by offsetting and valorizing the variations in their production. Storage systems enable the storage of electricity produced during periods of overproduction, to recover it either at a later stage or in the form of heat.

We invest in innovative flexibility and storage projects to enhance the stability of the electricity grids and make the most of the intermittent portion of the electricity mix, by storing energy in the form of electricity or heat.

Flexibility and storage projects, like Power-to-Heat projects, have a positive impact, not only on the grid stabilization and integration of renewable energies, but also through the reduction of CO2 emissions, saving energy and reducing energy markets’ dependence on fossil fuels. Taking particular advantage of synergies with industrial heat pumps operation, these projects participate in creating a more modern, resilient and sustainable energy system.
