CASE STUDY

Solar thermal | Valencia (Spain)

The project involves financing the design-build and operation-maintenance of a solar thermal power plant at the Heineken brewery in Quart de Poblet, on the outskirts of Valencia, through the signature of a 15-year Heat Supply Contract.

With a capacity of 4.2 MW, the plant comprises 184 concentrated solar power modules and supplies Heineken’s processes with saturated steam at 9 bar. Spread over an area of 6,000 m², the plant generates 3.5 GWh of sustainable, low-carbon heat per year, replacing natural gas.

The project received financial support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
